It was a morning to remember. 16 Crystal Palace faithful crammed themselves into a packed corner of Fado Irish Pub to sit mesmerized by the merits of our South London Princes in red and blue. It was neck and neck to the end and couldn't have been a closer fight, even if someone had actually scored a goal. Even though it was dry in the goalmouth, the mouth mouth of every supporter flowed with Guinness. The passion oozed from every pore of my new found comrades with raucous chants shaking the very timbers of the bar. I have never been so proud to call myself an Eagle. And to cap it all off, fresh-from-the-egg hatchling Jose even brought about the new and never before heard CPFC Austin warcry. "Talons up" Austin.

The rest of you who couldn't make it I am sure due to loss of limb or other such incapacitating issue, don't fret, we play again New Year's Day. I can hear the sighs of relief audible from here.

Crystal Palace Eagles play Aston Villa Sausages (or something dumb like that) tomorrow at 9am. I shall be there and hope to see the streets of 4th street painted
red and blue. I realize that tonight is a big night but leave a little room for tomorrow - your
hangover will vanish when you watch the New Year Palace drop the ball.
